About

East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) offers a wide range of nursing education programs to those looking to make a career in the medical field. With a variety of options including practical and associate nursing degrees, students can get hands-on training in the classroom and clinical practice. EVIT has a comprehensive approach to nursing education that allows for individualized learning and supports the development of a successful nursing practitioner. EVIT’s nursing program gives students the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills through real-world patient care experience. Through classroom lectures, laboratory exercises, and clinical rotations, students learn the fundamentals of nursing theory and practice. During the clinical component, students have the opportunity to practice their skills under the supervision of experienced nursing professionals. At EVIT, nursing students are also taught about ethical issues, legal responsibilities, and the dynamics of the healthcare system. They gain professional writing and communication skills that are needed to effectively coordinate care. Students also gain an awareness of cultural, racial, religious, and social issues important to providing safe and effective healthcare. The core curriculum at EVIT covers subjects such as anatomy and physiology, medical pharmacology, and pathophysiology. EVIT offers several advanced course options such as advanced assessment, gerontology, and evidence-based practice. The college also offers an RN-BSN Completion Pathway, which enables registered nurses to complete their Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree through EVIT. EVIT is committed to helping students succeed in nursing programs and has dedicated faculty and staff to provide assistance with educational planning, financial aid, and career development. Graduates of the program continue to achieve success in the nursing field and are able to find employment in hospitals, long-term care facilities, clinics, and other healthcare settings.
