About

Dakota Wesleyan University provides its students with an exceptional education in nursing. It offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing program geared towards providing graduates with the highest level of knowledge and clinical experience. The nursing faculty is dedicated to providing students with comprehensive and up-to-date curriculum needed to become competent and successful healthcare professionals. Students are educated on how to assess, diagnose, design, implement, and evaluate the care of individuals within the healthcare system. At DWU, students receive hands-on learning opportunities through clinical experiences at various hospitals and specialty care centers in the Sioux Falls area. The program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and culminates in a capstone project where students can apply their learning in a real-world setting. For those wishing to pursue a specialized degree, Dakota Wesleyan offers a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program. Students can choose from four specializations: Health Systems Leadership, Family Nurse Practitioner, Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, and Public/Population Health Nursing. Courses include advanced studies in health policy, statistics, research, pharmacology, and other related topics. Through the university's rigorous curriculum, students gain an understanding of the ethical and legal aspects of health care and develop the skills needed to provide quality patient care. At Dakota Wesleyan, students learn to think critically, work collaboratively, and prepare for a life of service in the nursing field. The university provides its students with the resources they need to become successful healthcare professionals who value excellence and innovation in nursing education.
