Nursing education at Brigham Young University-Idaho provides students with the necessary skills and knowledge to start or progress their careers as nurses. Students can choose from two track: Traditional and Accelerated. The traditional track includes prerequisites, general education courses and professional nursing courses. This track is suitable for those that are just starting out in the field or wanting to switch careers, as the prerequisites provide a thorough foundation for the rest of the program. The accelerated track is designed for students that already have an associate’s degree in nursing and want to bridge the gap to a bachelor’s degree. At Brigham Young University-Idaho, the nursing program incorporates teaching methods such as interactive classes, lectures, lab sessions, simulations, internships and more. Students learn from faculty with professional experience in the field and get hands-on practice through the simulation activities.
