Nursing education at the College of Southern Idaho provides students with a comprehensive, quality education in nursing. The curriculum combines theory and hands-on clinical experience, enabling students to apply what they learn while they learn. Through the nursing program, CSI students gain valuable knowledge and skills to become competent nurses and provide professional care to meet the needs of diverse populations. The program leads to an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) degree, enabling those who complete it to become registered nurses. Clinical experiences are abundant and help the students develop their practical nursing skills. Courses include patient assessment, medical-surgical nursing, mental health nursing, and leadership in nursing practice. Classes on nutrition, pharmacology, and human anatomy and physiology also prepare future nurses to care for patients. The College of Southern Idaho offers an engaging learning environment, with dedicated faculty and staff who are passionate about teaching and helping students reach their educational goals. They provide career counseling, academic advising and support services, open workshops, and more to ensure that students have the best possible educational experience. The Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program is designed to prepare graduates to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). Upon successful completion of the exam, graduates will be licensed as registered nurses and ready to work in a variety of settings. By choosing CSI’s nursing education, students are investing in their future, becoming part of an esteemed professional organization, and gaining the credentials necessary to make a difference in lives throughout the community and beyond.
