About

Central Arizona College (CAC) nursing programs have been providing quality nursing education to students in Arizona since 1967. CAC provides a variety of nursing degrees that can lead to registered nursing, licensed practical nurse and licensed vocational nursing licenses. With its diverse student body, faculty, staff and locations, CAC offers a unique opportunity to pursue a nursing degree in a supportive environment. The Associate in Applied Science in Nursing (AAS-N) degree program at CAC is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills to become a successful nurse. This program is offered at both CAC’s Maricopa and Signal Peak campuses, along with many satellite campuses. The curriculum provides a comprehensive foundation for graduate and post-graduate programs. It includes courses in anatomy and physiology, nursing practice, pharmacology and medical ethics, as well as clinical experience in real-world settings. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) programs also offered by CAC are designed to prepare students to become state licensed nursing professionals. These programs focus on teaching students the practical skills needed for a successful career in nursing. Students will learn how to assess and treat patients, administer medications, document patient care and perform other necessary duties. In addition to classroom instruction, CAC offers clinical experiences in local hospitals and other health care facilities. CAC has also taken the initiative to create an online version of its nursing programs. This allows students to access and complete their coursework from any computer or tablet with an internet connection. Online students have access to the same curriculum and resources as onsite students, including online tutoring and library resources. Students may also take advantage of career counseling and job placement services, which may be useful to those pursuing certifications or entering the work force. Whether studying on-campus or online, CAC’s nursing programs are designed to equip students with the skills, knowledge and experience needed for a successful career. With its comprehensive curriculum, knowledgeable faculty and supportive learning environment, Central Arizona College offers an excellent path towards licensure and a rewarding nursing career.
