Cardinal Stritch University is an institution of higher learning in Wisconsin that offers a wide range of nursing education degrees and programs. The university offers over 38 undergraduate and graduate nursing programs, including a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). The curriculum emphasizes problem-solving, critical thinking and evidence-based practice so students will be ready to enter professional practice and pursue further specialized studies. The BSN program at Cardinal Stritch focuses on providing students with the knowledge and skills necessary for advanced practice roles as registered nurses. Students gain a comprehensive understanding of the nursing profession and learn to think critically when making decisions concerning patient care. The program also provides clinical experience that prepares graduates to take the NCLEX-RN licensing exam. Students can choose concentrations in health assessment, health promotion, or community health. The MSN program prepares nurses to work in a variety of settings, such as acute and long-term care, ambulatory care, public health, home health, and more. In addition to coursework, students complete clinical experiences and a culminating project that includes a research component. The program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). The DNP program at Cardinal Stritch is designed to prepare expert nurse practitioners who possess the highest level of clinical skill, ethical judgment, and leadership abilities. Students acquire advanced skills in health care quality and safety, health policy, health promotion and disease prevention, and evidence-based practice.
