North Central Texas College (NCTC) offers a broad range of nursing education programs to help students become successful nurses. NCTC offers associate degrees in nursing (ADN), bachelor’s degrees in nursing (BSN), master’s degrees in nursing (MSN), and doctor of nursing practice (DNP). The ADN program is designed to provide entry-level nursing skills in a 2-year format, while the BSN program prepares students to earn their Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing in 4 years. The MSN program offers more advanced nursing training from an accredited university, while the DNP program is the highest-level nursing education program in the United States. NCTC’s nursing faculty provides students with excellent training and knowledge in the classroom, as well as hands-on experience in the clinical setting. The faculty are experienced in the areas of patient care, health management, and critical thinking skills needed to properly diagnose and treat patients. Nursing students at NCTC also have the opportunity to participate in internships with area hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare facilities, allowing them to gain real world experience while completing their degree. With small class sizes and a supportive faculty, NCTC nursing graduates are well-prepared to meet the demands of today's nursing profession. In addition to the academic courses offered through its nursing program, NCTC has numerous clinical sites for students to gain hands-on experience. These sites range from local hospitals and community clinics to larger medical centers in the area. Students can choose to complete internships with one or more of these sites, giving them an advantage over other nursing students who may not have access to such experiences.
