Texas Lutheran University is a private, faith-based learning institution located in Seguin, Texas. It provides nursing education to develop nurses with the essential knowledge and skills needed to excel in the healthcare profession. The university offers an undergraduate nursing program, a graduate nursing program, and an RN to BSN completion program. The undergraduate nursing program is designed to give future nurses an understanding of the theories, concepts and clinical practices needed for success in the healthcare industry. Through lectures, hands-on experience, and simulations, students learn critical thinking, problem solving, patient assessment, communication, and professionalism. After completion of the program, students earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses. The Graduate Nursing Program at Texas Lutheran University focuses on developing Registered Nurse's advanced clinical skills and prepares them for future careers in nursing. Students can choose from two different tracks: Advanced Practice Nursing or Nursing Leadership and Management. The Advanced Practice degree track allows students to prepare for additional certifications in specialty areas such as family health, gerontology, and nurse anesthesia. The Nursing Leadership and Management track prepares nurses to take on leadership roles within the healthcare setting by focusing on topics such as evidence-based practice and healthcare systems management. The RN to BSN Completion Program is designed for professional nurses who already hold an Associate's degree or diploma in nursing and wish to further their careers by earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. This program focuses on providing students with the tools they need to become exceptional nurses. Coursework includes topics such as nursing informatics, population health, and nursing research. Upon completion, graduates of the program will earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and become eligible to take the national licensure examination.
