The University of Houston-Victoria offers excellent education in the field of nursing with a robust and comprehensive curriculum. UHV’s nursing school has been ranked among the top 40 nursing programs in the United States by U.S. News & World Report, and their nursing program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Students will engage in rigorous academic coursework which includes courses such as medical-surgical nursing, psychiatric nursing, maternal child nursing, and more. UHV also provides experiential learning experiences in a variety of healthcare settings to ensure that students become knowledgeable health professionals. The hands-on experience allows students to apply theoretical knowledge to develop skills for real-world application. UHV offers bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is designed to provide concentrated study on the scientific principles of nursing to prepare students for career entry or advancement. Additionally, there are options for Registered Nurse licensure, which provide students with an opportunity to build upon their knowledge base and become an advanced nurse practitioner. The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) is designed for nurses who have already obtained licensure and offers focused degree plans to meet individual needs. The MSN is designed to prepare graduates to assume advanced nursing roles such as Nursing Administration, Nursing Education, Advanced Practice Nursing, and others.
