About

Venango County Area Vocational Technical School (VCATTS) provides quality nursing education programs to prepare students for a rewarding career as a nurse. At VCATTS, students gain practical experience under the guidance of faculty and instructors who offer guidance in the classroom and in hands-on clinical settings. The school's program offerings include Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Associate Degree Nursing (ADN), and Bachelor of Science Nursing (BSN) degrees. The LPN program at VCATTS is a comprehensive program that includes classroom lessons, labs, and clinical rotations. Students receive instruction in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, medical ethics, nutrition, and patient care. The program also includes courses in subject areas such as leadership, case management, and gerontology. This program prepares students to take the NCLEX-PN certification exam, allowing them to practice nursing within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The ADN program at VCATTS provides an in-depth curriculum that builds on the coursework of the LPN program. Students learn essential clinical skills and practice patient care in the healthcare setting. They gain competency in nursing theory, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning. Students complete courses in mental health, pediatrics, and obstetrics. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will be eligible to take the NCLEX-RN certification examination. For students who want to further their education, VCATTS offers a BSN program. This program provides students with a more advanced form of nursing education by building on the foundation of the previous educational levels. Coursework includes evidence-based practice, research, and health promotion. Students have opportunities to gain clinical experience and practice advanced nursing skills. At VCATTS, the nursing education programs are designed to help students pursue their dream of becoming a nurse. Graduates will have gained knowledge, skills, and experience that will allow them to provide quality patient care and make a difference in their communities.
