Lenape Technical School's Practical Nursing Program is widely recognized as one of the top nursing education programs in the nation. The program offers comprehensive courses to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to become successful, compassionate practitioners of nursing care. The program is divided into two parts: a classroom portion and a clinical experience. During the classroom portion, students are taught anatomy and physiology; pharmacology; medical ethics and legal liabilities; nutrition; mental health; gerontological nursing; child health; and community health. In addition, students learn the principles of patient safety, infection control, and other foundational concepts. The classroom instruction is supplemented with several simulation labs which allow students to practice the skills that they have been taught in a realistic environment. The second portion of the program is the clinical experience. During this portion, students work with live patients in a clinical setting. Here, students are able to combine the knowledge acquired through their classroom instruction with the hands-on application of clinical skills. This allows students to gain firsthand experience and confidence in the field of nursing. Lenape Technical School has its own Modern Health Care Complex where the majority of the clinical hours are completed. Located on the school's campus, the modern facility provides plenty of opportunities to explore the various facets of nursing. In addition, the school makes sure its students are provided with up-to-date knowledge and technology by offering an array of continuing education programs and seminars throughout the year.
