Nursing education at Catawba Valley Community College (CVCC) offers quality nursing programs for students who are interested in pursuing a career in nursing. CVCC has been providing nursing education for over 30 years, offering diploma and Associate Degree Nursing Programs. The Nursing Department at CVCC offers associate degrees in both practical and registered nursing. The curriculum combines classroom instruction, laboratory practice, supervised clinical experience, and field experiences designed to prepare graduates with competencies in the areas of general nursing, medical-surgical nursing, psychiatric nursing, maternal-newborn nursing, and pediatric nursing. The program also provides opportunities to learn the management of nursing care. The CVCC Nursing Program has an exceptional faculty dedicated to student success. Faculty members provide support, guidance and mentoring throughout the program and take on a variety of roles such as providing instructional guidance, developing clinical content and facilitating student learning. The Nursing Department is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
