Alamance Community College (ACC) offers a variety of nursing education programs that provide students with the opportunity to pursue a successful career in nursing. ACC’s nursing education programs include Associate Degree Nursing (ADN), Practical Nursing (PN), and Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN). All programs are designed to prepare graduates for the challenges of nursing practice and provide a pathway to continuing their professional growth throughout their career. ACC’s ADN program provides comprehensive training in medical-surgical nursing, pharmacology, obstetrics, and mental health. This program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and approved by the North Carolina Board of Nursing (NCBON). Graduates of this program are well-prepared to take the NCLEX-RN licensing examination. They can subsequently enter into a Registered Nurse position upon licensure. The PN program at ACC is a one-year program that prepares students to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN). Upon successful completion of the NCLEX-PN licensing examination, students will be eligible to work as a Licensed Practical Nurse in a variety of clinical settings. The LVN program is another one-year program offered at ACC and is designed to prepare students to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Licensed Vocational Nurses (NCLEX-VN). After successfully completing the NCLEX-VN, graduates will become Licensed Vocational Nurses and be ready for entry-level employment. All of ACC’s nursing education programs feature experienced instructors who strive to provide a learning-centered environment where students can achieve their goals. The college also offers small class sizes, hands-on teaching methods, and clinical experiences. In addition, faculty members are available to provide academic, personal, and professional support to students throughout their educational experience.
