Carteret Community College (CCC) is committed to providing quality nursing education to its students. We believe that nurses play a vital role in the healthcare system and we strive to equip them with the necessary skills to provide excellent patient care. Our nursing program is designed to produce qualified, competent, and well-prepared nurses who are committed to meeting the needs of their patients. At CCC, our nursing education program is accredited by the North Carolina Board of Nursing and the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission. We provide an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program, as well as a Practical Nursing (PN) program. Our ADN program is structured to provide a stimulating learning environment with an emphasis on critical thinking and problem solving. Students will learn the concepts and theories of professional nursing, as well as gain an understanding of the ethical and legal responsibilities associated with the practice of nursing. Our PN program also provides students with a strong foundation in the fundamentals of nursing theory, practice, and patient care. The program focuses on technical skills, such as taking vital signs, medications administration, and patient assessment. The program also offers the opportunity to learn about topics such as nutrition, health promotion, and disease management. In addition, the PN program provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to pass the NCLEX-PN examination, which is required for licensure in all states. At CCC, our faculty members are experienced professionals who bring current trends and technology to the classroom. Our faculty believes it is important to provide our students with the most up-to-date information, while encouraging critical thinking and the development of decision-making skills. We are dedicated to giving our students the best possible educational experience, one that will prepare them for success in the field of nursing.
