Located in Brooklyn, New York City College of Technology (City Tech) is a public college which is part of the City University of New York (CUNY) system. The college offers a wide range of educational programs, including nursing education. City Tech’s Nursing Department provides comprehensive nursing education from the pre-licensure bachelor of science in nursing to the doctoral level. At City Tech's Nursing Department, students can pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing, and a Registered Nurse Refresher Program. The Undergraduate program has two tracks: the Generic Track and the Accelerated Second Degree Track. The Generic Track is a four-year program for high school graduates who are new to nursing. The Accelerated Second Degree Track is an 18-month program for those with a degree in another field who want to transition into nursing. The Associate of Applied Science in Nursing is a three-semester program geared toward Licensed Practical Nurses and foreign nurses who wish to obtain a registered nurse license. The Registered Nurse Refresher Program is designed for licensed nurses who need to update their knowledge and skills. At City Tech, students learn in a state-of-the-art simulation lab, practice in community settings, and get hands-on experience. As part of their studies, students also participate in clinicals at nearby hospitals, clinics, and health care centers. City Tech’s Nursing Department also supports student research and leadership opportunities.
