Henry Ford College (HFC) offers a well-rounded and comprehensive nursing education to aspiring nurses of today. HFC has a wide variety of nursing classes, ranging from basic nursing care to advanced nursing courses. Students have the choice to pursue either a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing. At HFC, students gain the necessary skills, knowledge and hands-on experience needed to become a successful nurse. Through their medical sciences coursework, students learn anatomy, physiology and other medical terminology, along with patient care fundamentals. In the classroom, didactic learning is supplemented with clinical practice in local hospitals, long-term care facilities, clinics and other healthcare settings. HFC also provides students with many additional resources to support them in their studies. These include tutoring and academic advising services, career assistance and guidance, and study groups. They also give access to online health education websites, libraries and electronic databases. Students graduating from HFC’s nursing program will be ready to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). This exam is required in order to become a licensed nurse. The program also prepares graduates to work in a variety of healthcare settings as they develop the skills, knowledge and expertise needed to provide the best possible care to patients.
