Maysville Community and Technical College offers an exceptional Nursing Education program that provides the highest quality of healthcare knowledge, skills, and professionalism. Students enrolled in this program can obtain an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), a Practical Nursing Diploma (PN), or a transition to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). The ADN program at MCTC prepares students to become a Registered Nurse (RN). The curriculum includes theoretical and practical education, such as lectures, clinical experiences, seminars and labs. The college offers both day and night classes to accommodate students interested in working while attending school. After completing the program, graduates are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN). The PN program is designed for those students who have already completed their high school diploma or equivalent and wish to pursue a career as a licensed practical nurse (LPN). This program combines classroom instruction with clinical practices to prepare students to provide basic nursing care in a variety of settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, and doctor's offices. Upon completion of the program, graduates will be eligible to take the NCLEX-PN licensure examination. The Transition to BSN program is offered for qualified ADN graduates who are interested in advancing their nursing career and obtaining a more advanced degree. This program provides courses to bridge the gap between the associate and bachelors levels and includes courses in health assessment, leadership, and pharmacology. All courses are completed online or via hybrid format, which allows students to conveniently take classes without the need of travelling to campus.
