Southeastern Illinois College (SIC) offers an outstanding nursing education to help prepare students for a rewarding career in nursing. The college offers both Associate Degree in Nursing and Licensed Practical Nurse programs to meet the needs of various students. In the Associate Degree in Nursing program, students take courses in anatomy and physiology, medical-surgical nursing, pharmacology, and more. Upon completion of their coursework, students may be eligible to take their state nursing licensing exam. Additionally, SIC also offers a Practical Nursing Certificate program, which prepares students to become Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs). This program also provides knowledge in anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, and other topics related to nursing. As a complement to the curriculum, SIC provides students with hands-on clinical experience at healthcare facilities in the area, giving them real-world experience and developing their practical skills. During this time, they have the opportunity to observe professionals in action while actively participating in the patient assessment process. The rich clinical environment helps students refine their critical thinking skills and develop the best practices in patient care. In addition to the nursing education, students receive support and guidance from SIC’s dedicated faculty and staff. Instructors are available for one-on-one assistance, and advising is also available to help answer any questions or concerns that may arise. In addition to classroom instruction, online learning is also available to allow for greater flexibility. At Southeastern Illinois College, the commitment to excellence in nursing education enables students to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills, and confidence to pursue a successful career in nursing and make the most of the opportunity that awaits them.
