Our nursing education program has been designed with the primary goal of preparing graduates for successful careers in the health care industry. We offer an environment that promotes intellectual development and encourages collaboration and innovation. With a combination of classroom instruction, hands-on lab experience, and clinical rotations, our students are able to gain a comprehensive understanding of the nursing profession. At Wiregrass Georgia Technical College, we offer Associate Degree, Diploma, and Practical Nursing programs. Our Associate Degree Nursing Program provides general, technical, and specialized courses designed to prepare students for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX). Upon successful completion of the program, the student will receive an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) and be eligible to take the NCLEX. The Diploma Nursing Program focuses on providing students with the theoretical knowledge and traditional skills necessary to practice as a registered nurse. This program is designed to prepare students for the NCLEX as well as for entry-level positions in nursing. The Practical Nursing Program is designed to provide students with knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to give nursing care to clients in a variety of settings. Students who complete this program will be eligible to take the NCLEX-PN and gain licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
