The college offers an Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN), practical nursing degree programs, and nursing bridge programs to registered nurses. The Associate’s Degree program is designed to equip students with the skills necessary to practice nursing safely and effectively. Course topics include anatomy and physiology, nutrition, pharmacology, pathophysiology, health assessment and nursing fundamentals. Clinical experience obtained through supervised externships ensures that graduates have the hands-on experience needed to work in a medical setting. Advanced courses are also offered to provide a solid foundation in professional nursing practices. The Practical Nursing program prepares students to become practical nurses, commonly called LPNs. The program studies cover nursing fundamentals, nutrition, pharmacology, human growth and development, mental health, and leadership. An externship provides students with real world clinical experience in a health care setting. Students must meet the curriculum requirements and pass the state licensing exam, then apply for their LPN license. The Nursing Bridge program offers registered nurses additional education and training to meet the changing demands of health care, or to advance their nursing career. This program covers leadership, pharmacology, health assessment, ethical issues, educational strategies and research. Bridging courses provide RNs with the advanced knowledge they need to become competent, confident nurses.
