CTC offers a variety of nursing programs, including an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN), an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing (AASN) and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). All programs are approved by the North Carolina Board of Nursing and graduates are eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX). At CTC, students have access to state-of-the-art laboratories and clinical training centers equipped with modern technology and dedicated faculty and staff. Clinical experiences and hands-on education allow students to develop their critical thinking and problem solving skills. CTC also provides extracurricular activities and student support services, such as career development resources, tutoring services and student government. Through these diverse opportunities, students gain essential life skills and build strong professional networks. CTC offers both traditional and accelerated programs for aspiring nurses. Traditional programs typically require two years of full-time coursework and offer a combination of classroom instruction, clinical experiences and clinical externships. Accelerated programs allow students to complete their studies in as little as 18 months and involve a condensed schedule of classes and labs. All CTC nursing programs are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). At CTC, students learn the fundamentals of care, including pharmacology, anatomy and physiology, health assessment and disease management, nursing practice and leadership, research and evidence-based practice, and community and population health. They can choose from a variety of specialty courses, such as gerontology, pediatrics, oncology, acute and primary care, and mental health. Upon completion of their program, students are eligible to take the NCLEX and pursue licensure as a registered nurse (RN). Nursing education from Charlotte Technical College prepares students for a rewarding career in nursing and provides them with the necessary training to provide safe, competent care for patients. With flexible scheduling, highly experienced faculty and staff, and exceptional experiential learning opportunities, CTC is an ideal choice for anyone interested in pursuing a degree in nursing.
