Barstow Community College (BCC) is committed to providing excellent education and training opportunities in the field of nursing. Their nursing program is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) and provides both an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) and a Practical Nursing Program (PNP). BCC offers a variety of courses for those interested in pursing nursing education, such as anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, pharmacology, pathophysiology, gerontology, fundamentals of nursing and leadership in nursing practice. The courses are designed to give students the opportunity to develop knowledge, skills and professional competence in the nursing field. The ADN program at BCC is a two-year program that prepares students to sit for the NCLEX-PN, or National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses. This four-year program provides students with both in-depth theoretical and practical experience in nursing. There are a number of specialty options available such as geriatric nursing, pediatric nursing and family practice nursing.
