From the basic prerequisites of anatomy, physiology and pharmacology, to advanced courses like community health, research, and critical thinking, Foothill College is dedicated to helping students reach their professional goals in the nursing profession. At Foothill College, dedicated faculty and experienced instructors are invested in preparing students for their future in nursing. The school offers Associate of Science degrees and Certificates in Nursing. Students get to take classes such as ethics and legal issues, patient assessment, nutrition, pathophysiology, and mental health. In addition to classroom instruction, nursing students also receive hands-on training with patient interaction in the Foothill College Health Center, as well as in clinical settings elsewhere. The Foothill College curriculum is designed to prepare students for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) in order to get their license as a Registered Nurse (RN). The school also offers continuing education options to help students maintain their licenses and keep their skills up-to-date. Foothill College also has transfer agreements with universities and colleges across the nation that allow students to complete their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or master’s degree programs.
