Nursing education in Cossatot Community College of the University of Arkansas (CCCUA) offers an Associate in Applied Science in Nursing program that provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to become a career nurse. The program meets the needs of both traditional and non-traditional students, providing courses that can be completed at flexible times. During their time at CCCUA, students have access to a full range of resources and services, such as career counseling, library access and tutoring. The nursing program teaches students the fundamentals of nursing, including physiology, pharmacology, anatomy, patient assessment, and critical thinking. Students acquire hands-on experience through clinical practice sessions in different health care settings and lab activities. Additionally, students benefit from small class sizes, allowing them to build meaningful relationships with their professors and fellow students. CCCUA’s Associate in Applied Science in Nursing program is approved by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing, ensuring that students receive quality instruction and training. Upon completion of the program, graduates will be eligible to take the NCLEX-RN to become a Registered Nurse.
