Nursing education is an important part of a university's curriculum as it prepares future nurses for the clinical and professional responsibilities they will face in their profession. At University, MS our nursing education program provides students with a comprehensive learning experience designed to equip them with the knowledge and skills needed to meet the demands of the nursing profession. Our nursing curriculum provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to provide competent and compassionate care. We believe nursing is an art in which knowledge, judgment and sensitivity to patients are integral parts of the practice. Our classes and clinical experiences enable our students to develop these qualities while gaining a strong foundation in medical science and nursing theory. Courses include biological sciences, pharmacology, anatomy and physiology, nutrition, pathophysiology, epidemiology, and more, all of which provide students with a clear understanding of the complex nature of healthcare. We also offer a number of clinical experiences that give students a hands-on approach to learning and allow them to gain experience in a variety of real-world settings. These clinical experiences enable our students to see firsthand how their newly acquired knowledge and skills can be applied in a clinical environment while also allowing them to develop their own patient assessment and management skills. The faculty at the University of MS are highly experienced professionals, who understand the demands of nursing and are dedicated to helping our students reach their highest potential. Our faculty and staff are committed to providing ongoing support and guidance to assist our students throughout their educational journey. At University of MS, our goal is to prepare skilled and compassionate nurses who embody the values of excellence, integrity, leadership and service while making a positive impact on their communities. We strive to create an environment conducive to learning and foster the professional development of each of our students.
